English Tole Painted Folk Art Equestrian Document Box

This late 19th century document box features a wonderful folk art painting of a horse and jockey. In the upper right corner is a coat of arms picturing a spotted beast with a red collar against a shield of larger red spots. The horses saddle is monogramed "S".  The front of the box identifies the horse's owner, T. Earl, as well as the name "Larkspur" with the date 1890.
