Carved Polychome Painted Head

A most unusual in nearly life size carved folk art head in original polychrome decoration. Blocked and deeply carved wood, the hand has a large hole board in the base though there are no signs of glue or fasteners. Well the original purpose of the head is unknown, it may have been part of a Santos or primitive mannequin.
