19th Century Carved Limestone Draped Urn

A fine early 19th century draped funerary urn monument carved in the round made from solid limestone.  The draped urn is a common symbol in nineteenth-century cemeteries due to a revival of Classical Greek and Roman art and architecture. The veil or drape often depicts the veil between life and death and/or a protective covering for the soul.
